Back then, TED used to feature only in technological information, but ever since, they broadened their focus and also feature in topics like cultural, scientific and educational issues. This organization posts their videos online for free distribution simply because their slogan is ideas worth spreading.' Having watched two speeches, one informative and the other one persuasive, it became so evident that the two speakers were entirely different from one another.Comparing and contrasting these two speakers, we have Sir Ken Robinson who gives an informative speech on How to Escape Educations Death Valley.' As we all know, a presentation is all about your audience (Coopman, 2015). Ken Robinson gets to stage and transforms all the nervousness to enthusiasm by regularly throwing jokes to t he crowd. For one to be an efficient speaker, you should be able to adjust to your audience and get to involve them in what you are presenting as much as possible. This is what is portrayed when Ken Robinson gets to stage. A highly confident public speaker is known to be more accurate, credible and likable to his audience.Ken Robinson, just as Mellody Hobson in her speech titled Color Blind or Color Brave?' use gestures in expressing their points about the topic they are talking about. Use of hand and facial gestures help a lot in that the audience will get to understand more of what they are putting o the table. Mellody Hobson, on the other hand, displays excellent presentation skills as she can use the podium well. She moves from one end to the other to ensure that she maintains a good rapport with the audience. Good public speakers should always follow the rules of public speaking in that; Sir Ken Robinson should try as much as possible to use the available space given in the pod ium as it would help in delivering his message. Mellody Hobson should also involve the audience during her speech only because it will enable the crowd to be attentive and grasp everything that she is presenting. Mellody Hobson's speech was more effective as compared to the one by Ken Robinson mainly because she was straight to the point and tried to deliver her message as quickly as possible, giving the audience no chance of getting bored with her.How to Escape Educations Death Valley is the title of the informative speech by Ken Robinson. This presentation was whereby the speaker was producing his points in a spatial order. The points, though driven home, were just presented as they were. One of the new things learned in this presentation is about the education system in Finland. In Finland, the students are only tested in three subjects, Math, Science, and Reading, and these are the questions that they come out on top at. In work, they do not obsess about these disciplines, and t hey have a broad approach to education which includes the study of humanities and arts. This information is quite helpful.
